We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join Radio Links Communications as an RF Service & Repair Engineer who is proactive and detailed-oriented.

The RF Service & Repair Engineer will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing, and maintaining RF communication equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability. This includes two-way radios, repeaters, base stations, antennas, and other RF systems. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Previous experience is essential.

Key Responsibilities: Diagnosis & Repair:

• Troubleshoot and repair RF communication devices, including portable radios, mobile units, base stations, and repeaters.
• Identify faults using test equipment such as spectrum analysers/Marconi Test Sets
• Carry out component-level repairs, including soldering and replacing surface-mount components. Testing & Quality Assurance:
• Perform RF signal testing, alignment, and tuning to manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct RF power output, sensitivity, and frequency stability tests.
• Ensure repaired equipment meets regulatory and safety standards. Preventive Maintenance & Servicing:
• Conduct scheduled maintenance on customer RF systems to prevent failures.
• Inspect antennas, feeders, and grounding systems for wear and degradation. Technical Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain detailed service records, repair logs, and test reports.
• Update asset management and service ticketing systems. Provide failure analysis and improvement recommendations to management. Customer Support & Field Service:
• Offer technical support and guidance to customers regarding RF system operations.
• Perform on-site repairs and installations when required.
• Liaise with clients to ensure service expectations are met. Compliance & Safety:
• Ensure all RF work complies with industry regulations (e.g., Ofcom, FCC, CE).
• Follow health and safety procedures for RF exposure and electronic repair work.
• Financial Forecasting • Predict financial performance, including reporting on revenue to be invoiced and profitability.
• Help with budgeting, financial planning and resource allocation Resource/Workforce Planning

Hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with a one hour unpaid lunchbreak, good timekeeping is essential.

You must also live within a reasonable distance of our office in Eaton Socon.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £35,000.00 per year
