Hydrologist – Wales, UK | Hybrid

Contract: 2 Months – Possible Extension We are seeking an experienced Hydrologist to support flow monitoring, hydrometric surveys and environmental projects across Wales.

This is a hands-on field and office-based role with frequent site travel.

Key Responsibilities Review and analyse water flow and environmental monitoring data.

Inspect flow monitoring structures, equipment and completed installations.

Oversee contractors, review proposals and ensure work meets required standards.

Monitor and evaluate structures such as weirs and flumes .

Support technical hydrology activities and provide practical solutions to monitoring issues.

Produce technical reports and work closely with stakeholders and project teams.

Essential Requirements Degree in Hydrology, Environmental Science or a related discipline .

Proven UK experience with hydrological monitoring installations, flow measurement and hydrometry .

Experience analysing flow/environmental monitoring data.

Experience managing or supervising contractors.

Strong communication, technical reporting and teamwork skills.

Willingness to undertake frequent site visits across Wales.

Desirable MSc Hydrology, GIS experience, flood risk/source apportionment/dispersion modelling, and CIWEM membership or Chartered status.
