We are looking for an experienced Housing and Welfare Officer to join the Customer Engagement Service. The role involves providing specialist advice on housing rights, homelessness prevention, and welfare benefits, supporting residents to access suitable accommodation and maximise income.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide housing advice and welfare support to residents
  • Assess homelessness applications under the Housing Act 1996
  • Support households in securing private rented or temporary accommodation
  • Work with partner agencies to prevent and resolve homelessness
  • Represent customers in tribunals or court hearings when required

Key Requirements:

  • Experience with Housing Legislation & Homelessness Prevention
  • Knowledge of Welfare Benefits and Housing Options
  • Strong customer service and case management skills
  • Ability to work with vulnerable customers and multi-agency partners

Some out-of-hours and weekend work may be required on a rota basis.
