We’re building RadAssist AI — an assistive AI platform designed to help NHS radiology teams reduce imaging backlogs, prevent missed follow-ups, and improve patient safety — without disrupting existing workflows.
Built on Microsoft Azure, RadAssist AI is a non-diagnostic workflow automation tool that integrates with existing hospital systems (PACS, RIS, and EPR) to:
- 🔍 Automatically flag and track follow-up cases
- 🩺 Summarise radiology reports into GP-friendly notes
- 📊 Provide managers with real-time dashboards on backlog reduction and turnaround time
Our mission is simple but ambitious: empower NHS radiology teams to do more with less — safely, efficiently, and intelligently.
We are now preparing for a presentation with NHS Innovation Manchester, and we’re looking for a highly skilled Technical HealthTech Advisor to help us refine the technical story, strengthen our architecture, and confidently represent the project in front of stakeholders.
Your Role
As Technical HealthTech Advisor, you will:
- Refine the Azure architecture – review, optimise, and document our current design for scalability, compliance, and interoperability.
- Guide integration strategy – ensure seamless connection with existing NHS systems (PACS/RIS/EPR) using HL7/FHIR APIs.
- Advise on data handling & compliance – ensure GDPR, NHS Digital, and security best practices are met.
- Support during presentations – act as a technical voice during NHS meetings, answering questions and explaining deployment strategy clearly and confidently.
- Contribute to pilot planning – advise on approaches to using synthetic and real-world datasets for validation.
This is a strategic and visible role — your expertise will help shape how we communicate RadAssist AI’s value to NHS stakeholders and potential partners.
Skills & Experience Required
✅ Technical Expertise
- Proven experience designing and deploying solutions on Microsoft Azure (App Services, Service Bus, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Synapse, API Management, etc.)
- Strong understanding of FHIR, HL7, and healthcare interoperability standards
- Experience with PACS/RIS/EPR system integration in NHS or similar healthcare environments
- Familiarity with Azure AI services and NLP models for healthcare
✅ Healthcare Knowledge
- Understanding of NHS workflows, regulatory requirements, and Digital Standards
- Awareness of GDPR, data governance, and clinical safety principles
- Previous work on AI, digital health, or EMR/EHR systems is highly desirable
✅ Soft Skills & Communication
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, non-technical explanations
- Confident presenting to stakeholders and answering technical questions live
- Collaborative mindset — able to work closely with founders, advisors, and NHS partners
