I’m supporting a large, established, market-leading organisation with a strong UK presence and multiple operational sites. This is a business with deep-rooted expertise, long tenure across its workforce, and a new wave of high-calibre talent driving things forward. It’s a fast-paced, highly innovative environment and they’re now looking to appoint a Senior Process Engineer to play a key role in their next phase of growth.
The Opportunity
This is a genuinely high-impact, senior level position. You won’t just be supporting process engineering activities - you’ll be leading, shaping, and setting the standard for how process engineering is delivered across the business. The organisation is already strong technically and commercially, but this role has a clear mandate:
- Bring structure, consistency, and process engineering excellence
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development and standardisation of process engineering practices across multiple sites
- Owning and elevating process documentation, ensuring P&IDs and core engineering data are accurate, controlled, and fit for scale
- Acting as the technical authority for process engineering decisions
- Driving improvements that allow the business to scale operations, increase capacity, and operate more efficiently
This is about moving from good engineering to best-in-class engineering.
The successful candidate for the Senior Process Engineer will have the following background:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) is essential and a relevant Degree Qualification.
- Strong experience within COMAH / high-hazard process environments
- Background spanning process design, plant support / troubleshooting & project delivery.
- Deep understanding of PFDs / P&IDs (and how to manage them properly at scale) as well as process safety (HAZOP, LOPA, MOC)
- Someone comfortable leading from the front - setting direction, influencing stakeholders, and embedding change across multiple sites
Why This Role?
This isn’t a “steady-state” role. The business is ambitious, growing, and already performing well - but they recognise the need for stronger process engineering leadership and governance to unlock the next level.
In this role, you will:
- Shape how process engineering is done across the organisation
- Create a framework and standard that others follow
- Leave a lasting impact on safety, efficiency, and scalability
If you’re a senior-level Process Engineer who wants to step into a role where you can genuinely lead, influence, and build something, this is well worth a conversation!
