We are exclusively supporting our client, a market-leading Pharmaceutical business, to hire a Procurement Specialist within Unlicensed Medicines (ULM) to join their team and support their continued growth.

About the role:

The Pharmaceutical Procurement Specialist is responsible for the competitive sourcing and procurement of products within the Unlicensed Medicines (ULM) department, servicing customers in the UK. The role operates at strategic and operational levels to deliver global procurement and logistics requirements, enabling the business to capitalise on opportunities.

The goal is to obtain the best quality products or services compliantly, efficiently, and effectively. The candidate should be innovative and a competent negotiator using risk management to cost save and deliver consistently.

You will be responsible at both a strategic and commercial level for the company\\u2019s procurement and sourcing activities, working cross-functionally to enable success in this role.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the Unlicensed Medicines (ULM) procurement strategy to maximise sales opportunities and growth objectives.
  • Drive innovation in procurement by identifying and implementing new approaches and supplier partnerships.
  • Conduct competitive procurement to ensure cost-effective, timely, and quality sourcing to meet patient needs.
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasting to ensure correct products and volumes are stocked and communicated to the wider business.
  • Identify and communicate supply issues of regularly purchased products and work with the ULM team to minimise impact on customers.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a Procurement, Sourcing or Buying role within Unlicensed Medicines/Specials and/or wider Pharmaceutical field.
  • Forward-thinking and solutions-focused with the ability to navigate challenges.
  • Strategic outlook on procurement and awareness of market movements.
  • Strong relationship-builder, comfortable negotiating with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Financially literate with solid business acumen (margins, costs, etc.).
