A fantastic opportunity to join a mid-sized FMCG manufacturing business as the no.1 in HSE, with full autonomy for Health, Safety and Environmental in a dual site operation. The company has grown impressively in the last few years, with an excellent core product range, backed up by a strong NPD pipeline. They have strong wider infrastructure, yet are still of a size where you can really feel your contribution on a day-to-day basis. Their success has been underpinned by a strong culture and retention - the environment is one where people are supported, team-based and have genuine care and attention for the business and each other.

As a result of this, HSE has always been a top priority for the business and has been for many years. You will be coming into an environment that is well developed and where HSE is embedded across all functions of the business - you will be supported heavily by the Operations and Engineering teams in particular. The sites are heavily automated and the safety and wellbeing of their people has always been a top priority for leadership.

We are looking for someone who is not only technically capable and has up-to-date knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental, but can also very much bring this to life and be an able communicator of this at all levels of the business, whether this is shop floor or with senior leadership.

We are looking for:

  • Experience in a Manufacturing business in a leading HSE role (FMCG preferred)
  • Relevant risk management experience to the environment (PUWER, DSEAR, COSHH, Manual Handling etc)
  • NEBOSH Diploma
  • Strong communication skills capable of influencing all levels of a business
  • Environmental knowledge and track record of improvements (ESOS, CCL etc)
  • Sustainability knowledge around Net Zero/Waste Reporting
  • Development of Safety Management Systems to ISO14001 and ISO45001
