In the absence of the Manager, you will have direct responsibility for a team of technicians. Please note that this role works on a Mon-Fri basis with shifts rotating between earlies and lates (6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm) - for example, 2 weeks of earlies, then 2 weeks of lates.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced Supervisor/Team Leader who has had good exposure to reliability and leading a small team, or an existing Multi Skilled Engineer/Reliability Engineer who is looking for their first formal step into a supervisory/leadership role.

You will be responsible for:

  • Developing maintenance plans and asset care packages, with safety as top priority.
  • Managing engineering teams on a shift basis, collaborating with production to hit shift targets.
  • Developing and implementing training plans to ensure a mix of skills and coverage across the shift teams.
  • Completing and tracking work orders on the CMMS system.
  • Raising requisitions for spares through the Engineering Administrator.
  • Completing PPM tasks and reporting.
  • Allocation of key team roles such as Duty Holder, First Aider, Fire Marshall (some of which you will be doing yourself).
  • Maintaining site critical infrastructure.
  • Supervising contractors on site.
  • Identifying and carrying out continuous improvement activities.

We are looking for:

  • Electrical/Mechanical qualified - minimum of NVQ Level 3 (NVQ 3, ONC, OND, HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent).
  • Formally electrically qualified (City and Guilds/18th edition etc).
  • Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment (food, drink, brewery, pharmaceutical, plastics, packaging, automated warehouses etc).
  • Safety literate and conscious (qualifications preferred).
  • Good leadership ability/potential with a can-do attitude and motivational approach.
  • Good presentation skills, capable of presenting asset care and reliability plans to Senior Management.
