I’m currently partnering with a large, established and market-leading UK business as they look to appoint a Senior Civil Structural Engineer into their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Civil / Structural Engineer looking to play a key role across a wide range of engineering and capital projects. The position has been created to support both project delivery and the continued improvement of engineering standards, specifications and procedures across the wider business. The successful candidate will bring strong capability in either Civil or Structural Engineering, alongside a confident understanding of the complementary discipline, allowing them to operate effectively across a broad range of infrastructure and industrial engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading civil and structural engineering activities across complex industrial sites
  • Reviewing and overseeing engineering designs, specifications and technical documentation
  • Supporting the delivery of capital projects from concept through to installation and commissioning
  • Managing and coordinating third-party engineering consultants, contractors and specialist design activities
  • Providing technical oversight across steel structures, reinforced concrete assets, foundations, drainage and associated infrastructure
  • Driving improvements in engineering standards, compliance and documentation processes
  • Collaborating closely with multidisciplinary engineering, maintenance and project teams
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience within a senior Civil, Structural or Civil/Structural Engineering role within heavy industrial or similar environments
  • Strong technical understanding of structural steel and reinforced concrete design and construction
  • A solid appreciation of both Civil and Structural engineering principles and associated project activities
  • Experience overseeing external engineering partners and reviewing specialist design deliverables
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and technical leadership skills
  • A proactive engineer who enjoys improving standards, processes and ways of working
