Radar is a full-service Marketing, PR, Publishing and Events Agency hyper-focused on modern methods of construction (MMC) and building technology. We operate \"under the radar\" so our clients and brands take 100% of the spotlight, while we quietly - and flawlessly - orchestrate the entire show behind the scenes. We work hard, we don't do corporate egos, and we are deeply obsessed with our niche.

About the Role

As an Event Manager, you are the conductor of our live experiences. You will take full ownership of the end-to-end planning, development, production, and delivery of a selection of our diverse B2B events portfolio. Working closely with the Events Director and wider team, you’ll turn ambitious concepts into rock-solid, highly profitable, and seamless live events.

This isn't a role for someone who sits back and waits for perfect - it’s for a proactive, fast-thinking event specialist who loves solving problems before pointing them out. From mapping out project budgets and venue contracts to wrangling speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, and on-the-day logistics, you’ll lead events from the initial proposal right through to the post-event brew and debrief.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mastering the Blueprint: Take full project ownership of assigned events - including major conferences, awards evenings, exhibitions, roundtables, webinars, and site/factory tours - delivering \"done and excellent\" on time and within budget.
  • Budget Tracking & Financial Oversight: Maintain, track, and cross-reference overall project budgets set by the Events Director from start to finish. Keep events profitable, sweat the numbers, and ensure purchase orders and invoices are raised correctly.
  • Speaker & Agenda Logistics: Act as the primary champion for your speakers - managing invites, briefing packs, presentation slides, complex multi-track programmes, and hosting them on-site.
  • Sponsor & Exhibitor Success: Build strong, trust-based relationships with key sponsors and exhibitors, coordinating their stand allocations, venue requirements, and ensuring every single package benefit is delivered without a hitch.
  • Websites & Proactive Marketing: Take ownership of the event presence online - keeping our event websites accurate, engaging, and up to date, while having a genuine say in how we market and position each event. Working closely with the wider marketing, PR, publishing, and design teams, you won't wait for instructions; you’ll help steer the ship by spotting opportunities, shaping campaigns, and making sure marketing activity drives registrations.
  • Awards & Entry Generation: Take full ownership of the awards journey from start to finish. You’ll identify the right businesses, brands, people, and projects to target, build a strong pipeline of potential entrants, and take a proactive approach to outreach and conversion. You'll help shape entry strategy, manage entry portals and coordinate judging panels.
  • Venues & Suppliers: Research, negotiate, and book venues, AV teams, caterers, photographers, and videographers. We treat our suppliers with the exact same respect as our highest-paying clients - our network is our net worth.
  • Delegate Journey & CRM: Oversee registration flows, maintain crisp attendee data, and keep our CRM - our single source of truth - updated and accurate.
  • Onsite Leadership & Live Delivery: Lead on-the-day event execution, venue setup, registration desks, staff briefings, supplier orchestration, and on-the-spot troubleshooting.
  • Post-Event Debriefs: Gather delegate and sponsor/exhibitor feedback, analyse stats, and run honest post-event evaluations so every single event is sharper than the last.
  • Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly across our Publishing, PR, Design, and Sales divisions, while mentoring junior crew members, including Event Apprentices and Coordinators.

What We Are Looking For

No corporate jargon, no big egos. Just genuine enthusiasm, sharp organisation, and pride in your craft.

  • The Track Record: At least 3 years of hands-on experience planning, coordinating, and delivering live B2B conferences, exhibitions, or industry awards from start to finish.
  • Sweating the Quiet Details: You notice the little things nobody else sees - because the magic of Radar is in the quiet, seamless execution. You manage task deadlines comfortably inside our project management system.
  • Commercial Mindset: Confident with budget management, negotiating supplier rates, and protecting project margins.
  • Solutions-Focused Attitude: Bringing a problem to the table is easy; bringing a problem with two potential fixes is how you operate. When live events pivot, you stay calm, adapt, and help the team put it right.
  • Tech Savvy: Comfortable with MS Office, CRM databases , and project management tools.
  • On the Road: Willingness for occasional overnight stays.
  • The Birthday Rule: Your birthday is an extra day of paid leave on us. If it falls on a weekend, enjoy the following Monday off.
  • Breakfast Club: Every two weeks the whole team gathers in the kitchen for breakfast on us. Show up hungry!
  • Milestone Rewards: We value loyalty. Celebrate your 5-year anniversary with a voucher of your choice.
  • Investors in People Accreditation: We are officially accredited for our commitment to supporting, training, and building brilliant long-term careers for our team.
