The Opportunity Radar Healthcare’s new Business Development Manager We’re looking for a passionate and driven Business Development Manager to help us grow and reach new opportunities. In this role, you’ll build relationships, identify new markets, and manage a sales pipeline to meet targets. You’ll work closely with our marketing, finance, and project teams to promote our software and ensure smooth contract handovers. By understanding our customers’ needs, you’ll create tailored solutions and keep us ahead of industry trends. What you’ll be doing to make a difference:
- Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships - or new ways of reaching existing markets
- Build and nurture a sales pipeline and adapt outreach as necessary, seeking out the appropriate contact in an organisation
- Meet individual targets as well as collaborate with wider team to support team success
- Meet with customer face to face, over Teams or over the phone
- Foster and develop relationships at a senior level within our target markets and acting as a champion of our software within the private/public health sector
- Understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
- Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business and reach new opportunities
- Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
- Have a strong understanding of the product and be able to advise others about them
- Have a strong understanding of the competition in the industry and the positioning
- Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
- Liaise with the Finance team as appropriate
- Successfully hand over secured contracts to Project Management
- Seek ways of improving the way the business operates
- Attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate to build relationships with industry partners and stay up to date with industry changes
Your journey so far...
- Proven record of successful sales/business development - specifically within a software environment
- Experience and understanding of the NHS
- Direct experience in software sales and associated delivery
- Experience with a structured sales management process and demonstrable evidence of success at all stages from lead generation through to closure
- Experience with all relevant MS Office applications
- Experience with pricing strategies and positioning within a software sale
- Written and verbal communication skills - needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills
- Tenacity and drive to seek new business and meet or exceed targets
- Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with clients
- Teamworking skills and a collaborative approach to work
