RAD Propulsion is seeking a Product Support Technician to join its dynamic team developing a cutting-edge, electric marine propulsion product range. Forming an expert knowledge of the RAD products through use, assembly, disassembly, maintenance and servicing, the technician will provide technical support to products in the field and help manage peaks in production volume.

Often customer facing, the technician will portray a professional image, appropriately handling customer questions and concerns, enhancing RAD's reputation as an outstanding supplier of great products. This role is likely to involve domestic and international travel to customer sites, often at short notice; it is expected that the technician will hold a valid UK or EU passport and maintain its validity at their own expense.

Another key element of the role is in the testing and development of products, giving reasoned, objective feedback on the user experience and performance, helping the design team solve issues and make improvements. The technician will also be involved in writing and executing test plans both in the workshop and afloat. This could, for example, be to characterise propeller performance or the longevity of gears and bearings.

Skills & Experience
  • Experience in an assembly or maintenance environment, preferably within the marine industry; experience of electrical assembly is also desirable.
  • Methodical and able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong and thorough analytical skills when examining manufactured products for faults or defects, studying test data and identifying trends.
  • Good understanding of typical diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, USB hardware interface devices.
  • Able to research, identify, liaise, and confidently manage suppliers to solve problems individually or as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated, able to manage own time and take accountability for deliverables.
  • Experience of operating and maintaining powerboats to a high standard.
