We’re looking for two Maintenance Assistants to join the team at Seamill Hydro Hotel.

This is a hands‑on role supporting the smooth running, upkeep and presentation of our hotel, grounds and facilities.

Working as part of our maintenance team, you’ll help ensure the hotel is safe, well‑maintained and looking its best for our guests and team.

From general repairs and upkeep to maintaining our grounds, gardens and windows, this is a varied role where no two days are the same.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Carrying out general maintenance, repairs and upkeep throughout the hotel and its facilities.
  • Supporting the Maintenance Manager and wider maintenance team with day‑to‑day maintenance tasks.
  • Maintaining the hotel’s grounds and gardens, including general upkeep and presentation.
  • Carrying out basic painting, decorating and general property upkeep where required.
  • Assisting with planned preventative maintenance and responding to reactive maintenance issues.
  • Helping to ensure hotel facilities, equipment and communal areas are safe, clean and well‑maintained.
  • Supporting the upkeep of outdoor areas, paths, entrances and other external spaces.
  • Assisting with maintenance projects, renovations and developments within the hotel where required.
  • Following all health and safety procedures and reporting any maintenance issues promptly.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, groundskeeping or similar hands‑on role is beneficial.
  • A practical, hands‑on approach with a willingness to learn new skills.
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance, repairs and property upkeep.
  • Experience in areas such as painting, decorating, joinery, plumbing or electrical work would be advantageous.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
  • The flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including some weekends. Weekend working will be shared across the team, with approximately two weekends off per month.
