We are seeking a highly capable and customer‑focused Platform Project Engineer to join our Sovereign Cloud delivery team. This role is dedicated exclusively to project work, supporting the design, deployment, and implementation of secure cloud solutions for customers operating within a UK Sovereign Cloud environment.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working hands‑on with cloud technologies, thrives in structured project environments, and excels at building strong customer relationships. The candidate should have a broad range of skills across VMware, Azure, Windows, Linux, and Microsoft server products.
As a Project Engineer in the Sovereign Cloud team, you will be responsible for delivering end‑to‑end technical implementation across customer projects, acting as the primary technical contact throughout the entire lifecycle. You will translate customer requirements into secure, compliant, and scalable solutions, carrying out design, configuration, deployment, testing, and validation activities while ensuring all work aligns with strict sovereign and security standards.
You will collaborate closely with project managers and internal engineering, security, and operations teams to meet milestones, manage risks, and ensure seamless integration with the wider platform. Your role includes producing high‑quality technical documentation, running customer workshops and knowledge‑transfer sessions, and maintaining clear, proactive communication to ensure customers remain informed and confident in the delivery process.
You will also identify technical issues early, provide expert guidance, and contribute to continuous improvement across project delivery practices.
Skills & Experience Required:- Proficient in VMware HCX, OpenStack, Windows, Linux technologies
- Large Scale migration experience
- High & Low design documentation experience
- Eligibility to pass BS7858 security check
