Secondary Maths Tutor in Blackpool

Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and passionate KS3 – KS4 Tutors in maths to provide educational support to students in-person across the Fylde and Wyre. In particular, we have a lot of referrals for GCSE support. The ideal candidates will hold QTS and at least 1 year UK classroom experience in their specialist subject and age range area. They will possess the ability to communicate effectively with all pupils, and foster a nurturing, positive learning environment that suits their individual learning style.

The work will involve in-person at either the tutee\’s house or at our on-site, recently opened location based in Poulton. Hours to be discussed further at application.

Responsibilities

• Develop tailored lesson plans that meet the individual needs of each student.
• Provide one-on-one sessions.
• Assess students\’ progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and educators regarding academic performance and areas for improvement.
• Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages student participation.
• Maintain records of student progress and provide feedback to parents as necessary.
• Stay updated on educational best practice and incorporate them into tutoring sessions.
• Support students with special educational needs by employing appropriate strategies and resources.

Requirements

• At least one year classroom experience.
• An good subject knowledge and passion for the area that you teach.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to students and parents.
• A commitment to the pupils that you teach where (usually term-time weekly)
• Knowledge of special education practices is highly desirable.
• Ability to educate and inspire students, fostering a love for learning.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed academically.
• QTS
• Understanding of exam boards (AQA, Edexcel etc.) and ideally have marked exam papers

Job Types: Freelance, Zero hours contract

Pay: £28.00-£32.00 per hour
