CalMac Ferries is looking for an experienced Internal Communications Manager to step into a pivotal 12-months role supporting our people through an exciting period of transformation, including the delivery of new vessels and infrastructure. What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll take the lead in bringing CalMac’s internal communications strategy to life, ensuring critical messages reach the right people, at the right time, in the right way.
  • Leading the planning and delivery of impactful communications across key programmes, functions, and projects.
  • Supporting the rollout of new vessels and infrastructure, ensuring colleagues feel informed and included.
  • Creating engaging, inspiring content that resonates across a diverse workforce.
  • Enhancing and evolving internal communication channels, finding smarter, better ways to connect.
  • Acting as a trusted partner to leaders and teams, building advocacy and trust.
  • Delivering training, advice, and support to empower others to communicate effectively.
  • Getting out across the network, meeting colleagues face-to-face and understanding what matters to them.
  • Managing documentation, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and accessibility.
  • Championing CalMac’s brand voice, tone, and style internally.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree-level education (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years in internal communications.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • A flair for different forms of creative communication.
  • Proven experience delivering communications strategies or plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • A natural ability to listen, evaluate, and translate complex information.
  • Passion for engaging people and driving positive change.
