You will lead the planning, shaping, and delivery of communication supporting the successful roll‑out and adoption of change programmes across BSI. You will bring experienced strategic thinking to large‑scale change, showcasing best practice and championing the role of communications and engagement in delivering and embedding transformation. This is a programme‑wide role within a large, multi‑year transformation consisting of multiple inter‑connected projects. The Change Communications Lead will own and drive communications across the full programme, ensuring a coherent and joined‑up narrative across all phases and projects.
Working closely with the Change Lead, Programme Leadership Team and Project Leadership, as well as across Business, Technology and external partners, the role will set the strategic approach to change communications for the programme while also leading day‑to‑day delivery. This includes developing core narratives, supporting business briefings, creating materials, managing channels, and supporting key milestones, releases and readiness activities. This role requires someone who can operate credibly at a senior level, influence and advise leaders, and equally ‘roll up their sleeves’ to deliver practical, high‑quality communications in a fast‑moving, complex programme environment.
Responsibilities
- Own the change communications approach at programme level, ensuring alignment and consistency across multiple projects, phases and delivery horizons.
- Lead the development and delivery of change communication strategies alongside tactical delivery, aligning communications to organisational and programme goals.
- Collaborate with the programme team to define the core narrative and key messaging ensuring a consistency and clarity of messaging across various channels.
- Lead the development and execution of change communication campaigns, utilizing a mix of communication channels.
- Create and deliver communications assets (e.g. briefings, emails, intranet pages, packs, updates, FAQs, toolkits) and manage channels day‑to‑day to ensure timely, practical and high‑quality delivery.
- Provide strategic counsel and coaching to senior leaders and project sponsors, enabling clear, confident communication and effective change messaging and engagement with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of change communications using insights, metrics and feedback to measure impact and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Act as a liaison between internal programme stakeholders, our delivery partner and the wider organisation, providing timely and accurate communications of change‑related updates.
- Manage and collaborate with a team of Change Communication professionals, providing guidance, support and fostering their professional growth.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience leading change communications within large, complex transformation programmes.
- Demonstrable line management experience.
- Strong strategic capability, with the ability to create and translate strategy into clear, actionable and high‑quality communications.
- A hands‑on delivery mindset, comfortable producing communications and managing channels as well as leading at a senior level.
- Strong experience across a variety of channels (mail chimp, share point, teams, viva engage etc).
- Proven experience adapting communications to varying audiences.
- Previous experience in culture and behavioural change would be highly beneficial.
