National Grid is hiring a Communications and Engagement Coordinator reporting into the Content and Channels Manager. Within this role you will be working with the Content and Channels manager to provide support to the CC&E team in NGED and to contribute to the delivery of the NGED communication and engagement strategy. As a Communications and Engagement Coordinator you will support the NGED business in a wide range of activities from content creation to event management and supporting key stakeholders as required. This role will support the team in ensuring coordinated and effective content delivery across all channels. The role is hybrid so we would expect you to be in one of our offices located in the Midlands, South West or Wales a few times a week and work from home the rest of the week.

What you’ll do:

  • Maintenance of channel and content plans including the use of Smartsheets
  • Event support, planning and logistics
  • Content creation and storytelling through written articles, short videos and other media
  • Lead publisher on NGED intranet and NG intranet for NGED
  • Support the delivery of cyclical channels and content – such as the weekly email newsletter, all-colleague, leadership-calls, monthly manager pack (Team Brief)
  • Channel maintenance and development particularly digital screens
  • Stakeholder management to ensure content is in line with channel strategy and governance
  • Production of communication dashboards/collation of metrics and support the identification of opportunities by analysing key themes
  • Video editing and slide production
  • Supporting CC&E team members in delivering stakeholder plans
  • Development and maintenance of image library, templates, banners and how-to guides
  • Purchase Orders/License’s/budget monitoring
  • Development & maintenance of 3rd Party preferred supplier lists

What you’ll need:

  • Experience of customer focus and stakeholder management – using influencing and communication skills in order to build relationships
  • The ability to self-start and adapt to different business needs, with the mindset of continuous improvement
  • Discipline and attention to detail in managing data and proof reading/copy writing
  • Competent in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and video editing software
  • Experience of providing support and advice, tailored to the needs of the business
  • Experience of managing projects from initiation to implementation and review
  • Experience of channel measurement and implementing improvements
  • Experience of planning and leading events

What you’ll get:

A competitive salary between £40,706 – £44,297 per annum – dependent on capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
