We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Warehouse Manager to lead the Luton warehouse operation. You will be responsible for safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse performance, with full ownership of inventory management, stock accuracy, and audit-ready records across two locations. You will oversee inbound goods, storage, and dispatch, driving operational efficiency while managing inbound/outbound logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee inbound and outbound logistics for all donations, including efficient loading and unloading.
  • Manage high volumes of stock, including anticipating demand, planning for surge capacity, and ensuring adequate resources and storage are in place to meet operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and stock control systems across the Luton warehouse and additional storage locations, ensuring audit readiness at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels and support forecasting and planning to meet distribution demand.
  • Ensure high standards of health and safety across all warehouse activities.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers providing supplementary storage capacity.
  • Oversee order fulfilment, including packing, labelling (FedEx), and pallet wrapping.
  • Raise purchase orders and manage warehouse-related budgets and costs effectively.
  • Ensure effective waste management and maintain high standards of housekeeping.
  • Maintain warehouse systems, records, and reporting, providing regular updates on stock, operations, and performance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours Required

  • Full, clean driving licence.
  • Forklift operation capability (valid forklift operator certification required).
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, with proven ability to implement and maintain them in a warehouse environment.
  • Proven and extensive experience in stock control and warehouse management systems (e.g. Sage or alternatives).
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond quickly to changing priorities, manage fluctuating demand, and effectively support surge capacity requirements in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrates strong initiative and the ability to work independently, proactively identifying issues and implementing practical solutions without close supervision.
  • Good IT skills and administrative capability.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to motivate and support others.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling and distributing deliveries to sensitive or confidential locations, ensuring information security at all times.
