Overview

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing all manufacturing operations across the site. This role oversees a multidisciplinary team of approximately 40 employees and is accountable for safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing departments.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Full responsibility for all manufacturing departments (e.g. Production, Assembly, Fabrication, Finishing, Packaging, Maintenance, and Stores as applicable)
  • Team size: ~40 employees
  • Budget and cost control responsibility for manufacturing operations

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the production process, working to the production schedule.
  • Ensure planned KPI’s of efficiency and performance are met or exceeded.
  • Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve the objectives.
  • Establish and maintain a standard of performance for the operation.
  • Develop and track improvement in reduction of planned hours.
  • Make sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality.
  • Manage the adherence to prescribed procedures to ensure first pass quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
  • Conduct Performance appraisal for direct reports & ensure it is done for the rest of the production areas.
  • Ensure continual improvement with overall quality of product.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, systems and processes.
  • Manage the manufacturing operation consistent with the company operating guidelines.
  • Establish individual accountability using coaching and support and performance management process.
  • Assess manufacturing operations staffing and skill requirements. Develop plans to address needs.
  • Establish manufacturing priorities and allocate the resources.
  • Ensure effective management of performance in the department to meet business needs.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Manager or Senior Production Manager
  • Experience leading teams of 30+ employees
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations management
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management capability
  • Solid understanding of health & safety and quality systems
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma experience
  • Engineering or technical background
  • Experience in multi-shift or high-mix manufacturing environments

Qualifications

Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field
