Salary: £30000 to £33000 PA DOE

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 7am to 4pm, Friday: 7am to 1pm, 40 hours paid per week

Job Purpose

To ensure all plant machinery, equipment, and facilities are maintained to a high standard, minimizing downtime and ensuring safe, efficient manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine, scheduled, and preventative maintenance on production machinery and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults and carry out timely repairs.
  • Respond quickly to machinery breakdowns to minimize production interruptions.
  • Install, adjust, and commission new machinery or production lines as required.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage records.
  • Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance (PM) procedures.
  • Work with production operators to troubleshoot recurring equipment issues.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years experience in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and/or electrical systems.

Preferred

  • Experience with PLCs, automation, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or reliability-centered maintenance.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Effective problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work safely under pressure and in time-critical situations.
