The Role
We are currently looking for an experienced Counterbalance Forklift Operator to work within a busy yard environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for loading and unloading lorries and containers, as well as general yard duties.
A current forklift licence is not required, as full on-site training will be provided. However, previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a counterbalance forklift safely and efficiently within the yard.
- Loading and unloading lorries.
- Loading and unloading containers.
- Moving and positioning materials and goods around the yard.
- Ensuring goods are handled safely and securely.
- Following all site health and safety procedures.
- Keeping the yard organised and tidy.
- Working as part of a team to meet daily operational requirements.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift.
- Previous experience working within a yard, warehouse or similar environment.
- A current forklift licence is not essential, as on-site training will be provided.
- Willingness to learn container loading and lorry loading/unloading procedures.
- Good awareness of health and safety.
- Reliable, hardworking and punctual.
- Comfortable working in a busy, physical environment.
The hourly rate will remain at the agreed rate of £12.71 until the successful candidate is fully trained and competent in loading containers and loading/unloading lorries.
