We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will support our finance function, ensuring that all accounting records are maintained accurately and efficiently.
Working hours and days could potentially be tailored to suit the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
Process invoices and payments (accounts payable and receivable)
Bank reconciliations and monthly reporting
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Assist with payroll processing and related reporting
Support the preparation of management accounts
Liaise with external accountants and HMRC where required
Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments
Maintain accounting software and filing systems
General administrative and finance support as needed
Requirements:
Proven experience in a similar bookkeeping or accounts assistant role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
AAT qualification or similar
