Role description:
- To engineer a new line of high performance dampers for aftermarket and motorsport applications.
- To work with suppliers to develop bespoke or improved versions of existing damper products.
- Develop component targets based on customer requirements and track data.
- Create product costings at concept phase and monitor/manage product costings through the entire project.
- Create and manage test plans.
Experience & qualifications:
- MINIMUM of an HNC/HND in mechanical or automotive engineering.
- MINIMUM of 5 years design experience of vehicle dampers.
- Eloquent and outgoing, able to build strong relationships with suppliers and customers and liaise on technical matters with other departments and customers.
- CAD experience using Catia, NX, Creo, Solidworks or similar.
- Experience of DFM, DFA, tolerancing.
- Significant experience of cascading vehicle level attribute targets to component specifications.
- Knowledge of the associated CAE tools and test methods for suspension systems.
- Working knowledge of D-FMEA, P-FMEA, DVP's & APQP.
