Travel Oncology Pharmacist Outpatient Cancer Clinic | Immediate Start
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Travel Oncology Pharmacist to support an outpatient cancer clinic located adjacent to a major teaching hospital near Webster, TX. This role offers the chance to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional care to oncology patients.
Position Details:
- Start Date: Immediate – within 2 weeks
- Duration: 13 weeks minimum, with potential for extension or contract-to-hire conversion
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shifts
- Setting: Outpatient oncology clinic within a leading healthcare system
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide prehensive pharmaceutical care to oncology patients, including medication review and therapy monitoring
- Utilize Epic Beacon oncology software to accurately manage chemotherapy orders and patient records
- Collaborate closely with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and optimize individualized treatment plans
- Perform sterile pounding of chemotherapy and other hazardous drugs in pliance with USP <797> and <800> standards
- Oversee and provide guidance to pharmacy technicians in medication preparation and dispensing
- Offer clinical consultations and therapeutic remendations to ensure safe and effective cancer treatment
- Document all clinical interventions and patient care activities according to institutional policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Texas
- Minimum of 2yearsdirect oncology pharmacy experience, preferably in an outpatient setting
- Proficient with Epic Beacon oncology electronic health record system (at least 1 year experience)
- Demonstrated experience with sterile pounding, including handling hazardous drugs, meeting USP <797> and <800> requirements
- Strong clinical knowledge of chemotherapy protocols and cancer pharmacotherapy
- Excellent munication and collaboration skills to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to provide patient-centered care with a focus on safety, accuracy, and quality
