We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in San Ramon, California. This role involves working closely with the Tax Partner and Senior Manager to handle tax preparation, research, and planning for various clients. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in diverse tax assignments, including corporate, partnership, individual, and estate/trust income returns, while ensuring compliance and delivering exceptional client service.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, trusts, partnerships, corporations, and estates to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Conduct in-depth tax research and analysis to address client-specific issues and develop effective tax strategies.

• Collaborate with clients to resolve minor tax matters and provide guidance on financial decisions.

• Train and mentor tax accountants at the entry level, offering support and sharing knowledge to enhance team capabilities.

• Identify potential tax and accounting issues that could lead to audits, and propose actionable solutions.

• Develop tax projections and strategies tailored to client needs, including quarterly tax payments.

• Represent clients during audits in collaboration with partners, ensuring their interests are effectively advocated.

• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, delivering quality results within deadlines.

• Provide consulting services on accounting policies and procedures for businesses across various industries.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, or Business with an emphasis on Accounting.
• CPA certification or candidacy preferred.
• Master’s degree in Accounting or relevant tax preparation experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software systems, including CaseWare and CCH ProSystem Fx.
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance and federal tax regulations.
• Experience preparing individual, corporate, partnership, and estate tax returns.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in tax accounting.
