Job Description
As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and preparedness of medical instruments and supplies. Your duties will involve collecting used and contaminated equipment, manually cleaning supplies, operating decontamination equipment, and meticulously examining supplies to ensure proper sanitation.
Responsibilities
- Collect used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for sorting and decontamination.
- Manually clean supplies of contaminants and remove waste matter.
- Operate and maintain decontamination equipment.
- Prepare and pack decontaminated supplies for sterilization.
- Monitor and operate sterilization equipment.
- Examine supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized.
- Test and report any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment.
- Sterilize, prepare, wrap, and organize equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures.

Work Environment
This position offers a dynamic work environment, with shifts running Monday through Friday in either 4-9 hour blocks from 12-8:30pm or 9-5:30pm. The role requires flexibility, as the workload can vary significantly with 15 to 30 cases/trays a day depending on the day. The work is fast-paced and requires attention to detail in a busy medical setting.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 – $25.00/hr.
