Job Description
This position offers a unique opportunity to provide essential social work services within a middle school setting in Sterling Heights, MI. As a critical member of the student support team, the role involves addressing personal, psychological, and social issues that affect student performance and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counsel general education students facing personal and psychological challenges impacting their behavior, socialization, and academic success.
- Develop and implement individualized counseling sessions, treatment plans, prevention programs, and intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with students, teachers, and administrators to identify behavioral causes and provide effective support.
- municate with parents and guardians to discuss student challenges and progress.
- Maintain detailed case files and progress reports to monitor student development.
- Connect students and families experiencing hardship, such as abuse, violence, hunger, or homelessness, to critical munity resources including shelters, food banks, and medical services.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Social Work.
- Valid 310 Social Worker Endorsement.
- Experience working with middle school-aged children in an educational environment is preferred.
