Shipping Clerk  – $20/Hr

This position is temporary with an opportunity to be hired full-time.

Integrity Trade Services is hiring an Shipping Clerk for our Steel client to start at $20/Hr. Receive comprehensive benefits through ITS upon hire!

Responsibilities:
The Shipping clerk is responsible for making sure all operational and procedural changes are made to all shipping orders. 

  • Monitor rail loading and unloading, keeping accurate records to avoid extra charges. Update status changes regularly to meet shipping requirements.
  • Maintain a high service level in the shipping office by guiding drivers to the correct areas and reminding them of safety rules. Ensure driver safety sheets are signed and logged to track driver visits.
  • Keep accurate records of receiving and bills of lading for tracking purposes.
  • Be proficient with computer systems and software to navigate through tasks.
  • Have knowledge of warehouse operations and materials to understand the system and check loads.
  • Communicate effectively with visitors, drivers, and employees.
  • Building loads, printing BOL's and processing orders

Location: Peotone, IL

Schedule/Shift Details

  • 2nd shift: 1:30pm – 10:30pm Monday – Friday (train on first shift 5am to 2pm)

Qualifications

  • Must have previous office experience
  • Must have data entry and computer skills
  • Must have experience with bills of lading
  • Sideline software experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in Excel
  • Must have background in operations with coordination and managing day to day functions

  • An employee that works in Illinois is entitled to accrue and use up to 40 hours of paid leave during a 12 month period or a pro rata number of hours of paid leave under the provisions of the State of Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act.  The 12 month accrual period is considered to begin for new employees on the employees first day of employment.  An employee is entitled to begin using earned and accrued paid leave time 90 calendar days after commencement of employment.  Paid leave under this Act shall accrue at the rate of one hour of paid leave for every 40 hours worked up to 40 hours of paid leave
  • 401(k) with company match for eligible employees.

Eligibility:  Active employees with one year of work and during that one year has completed 1,000 hours of service and is at least 21 years of age.  Entry dates into the 401(k) are:  1/1 or 7/1 following the one year of service and completing 1,000 hours of work.
The company will match 100% of the first 3% of the employee contribution.  As well as, match 50% of the next 2% of the employee contribution. (The company contribution/match maximum is 4%)
