Focus: Students with Autism (Ages 5-22)

Your Job: We need a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Leesburg, VA, for a part-time summer job starting June 1st. You'll work 20 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 4 PM) with students aged 5-22 who have Autism. Your main goal will be to help them communicate better.

You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Providing direct speech therapy to students with Autism.
  • Teaching functional communication skills and social language.
  • Using and teaching AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
  • Working with teachers and parents.
  • Keeping good notes on student progress.

What You Need:

  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • An active Virginia SLP license (this is a must-have!).
  • Your ASHA CCC-SLP certification (also a must!).
  • Experience working with people (ages 5-22) who have Autism.
  • Ability to use AAC.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good organization.
  • A caring approach to helping students with Autism.

Schedule:

  • Hours: About 20 hours per week.
