A school district in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a skilled Social Worker to support students from kindergarten through 6th grade. This opportunity is available on a full-time or part-time basis for the current school year, with a contract running from ASAP through June 6, 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide social work services to K-6 students, addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement support plans.
  • Assist students in overcoming barriers to learning and promote positive school environments.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of services and progress.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and coordinate with external agencies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Social Worker with eligibility or current certification suitable for a school environment.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators and families.
  • Willingness to work alongside Human Resources regarding certification if the candidate does not currently hold a 310/teaching certificate.
