Position Type: Onsite, School-Based

The Portland Public Schools are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our school-based health team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with students, staff, and families to support student health and academic success.

Position Details:

  • Part-time during Summer 2025

  • Full-time during the 20252026 school year

  • Onsite role in a school-based setting

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to students during the school day

  • Administer medications and manage treatment plans for chronic conditions

  • Respond to health emergencies and provide first aid

  • Maintain accurate student health records

  • Collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare providers

  • Promote a safe and healthy school environment

Caseload details will be provided upon application.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Maine RN or LPN license

  • School nursing or pediatric experience preferred, but not required

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Compensation:

  • Hourly rate is dependent on experience
