Full-Time School Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Location:Truth or Consequences, New Mexico
Schedule: Full-Time, 4-Day School Week

We are seeking a full-time professional to join our dynamic school district in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, for the upcoming school year! Key Responsibilities (for OT/COTA):
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, self-care abilities, and other areas impacting their educational participation.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable goals and objectives.
- Provide direct occupational therapy interventions, individually or in small groups, focusing on areas such as:
- Fine motor skills (handwriting, cutting, manipulation of small objects)
- Visual-motor and perceptual skills
- Sensory processing and regulation strategies
- Self-help and daily living skills (dressing, feeding, hygiene)
- Gross motor skills affecting classroom participation
- Assistive technology recommendations and training
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom and home environments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress, therapy sessions, and IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Educate staff and families on occupational therapy strategies and adaptive techniques.
Qualifications:
For Occupational Therapist (OT):
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current and valid New Mexico Occupational Therapist license.
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
For Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA):
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current and valid New Mexico Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license.
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) certification.
- Experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
