Position Overview

Green Hills Area Education Agency (AEA) is seeking a highly qualified and student-centered School Psychologist to join our regional support team based in Council Bluffs, IA. This is a full-time, 40-hour/week position providing services across multiple school districts, including Essex (1 day/week) and Sidney (4 days/week). The role serves a K12 caseload, working with students in elementary, middle, and high school settings.

Assignment Details

  • Essex Community School District: 1 day/week

  • Elementary and Middle School

  • Sidney Community School District: 4 days/week

  • Elementary, Middle, and High School

  • Services may include occasional travel between buildings within each district

    Primary Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments (initial and reevaluations) to support special education eligibility decisions

  • Analyze and interpret psychological, academic, and behavioral data to inform interventions

  • Prepare and present comprehensive written evaluation reports for school teams and families

  • Participate in IEP, MTSS, and eligibility meetings as a psychological expert

  • Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to promote student learning and mental wellness

  • Assist with crisis response, behavior intervention planning, and academic accommodations

  • Maintain clear, timely, and confidential documentation in compliance with AEA and state regulations

  • Work as a team member within the AEAs broader network of school psychologists and support personnel

    Required Qualifications

  • Masters or Specialists Degree in School Psychology

  • Completion of at least 60 graduate semester hours in psychology and education

  • Valid Iowa Board of Educational Examiners (BOEE) license with School Psychologist Endorsement (B-21)

  • Strong knowledge of assessment tools, special education law, and MTSS practices

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

  • Willingness to travel between assigned districts (mileage reimbursement provided)

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in school-based psychological services

  • Familiarity with Iowas AEA system and IEP processes

  • Experience with data-based decision making and behavioral consultation

  • Comfortable working independently in rural or small district settings
