Job Description
A school district in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking a qualified School Psychologist to support an elementary school population for the 20242025 school year. This contract position offers an opportunity to provide essential psychological services to students while collaborating with a dedicated educational team.
Position Details:
- Start Date: August 26, 2024
- End Date: June 10, 2025
- Location: Elementary school in Arlington Heights, IL
- Hours: MondayFriday, 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, following the school calendar
- Caseload: Approximately 380 elementary students
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations for special education eligibility
- Participate as a team member in assessments and data review for students within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework
- Provide crisis intervention support for students needing immediate psychological assistance
- Collaborate with district leadership to complete parochial school initial and reevaluations under guidance from the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services
- Offer psychological insight and recommendations without delivering direct IEP therapy minutes or sessions
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification or licensure appropriate for Illinois
- Experience working with elementary aged students in a school setting
- Strong understanding of special education evaluation processes and MTSS
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, administrators, and families
- Skilled in crisis assessment and intervention
