Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division – a new era of mobile repair. Learn to weigh in to the mobile repair sector, working in a schedule that is fully planned and predictable, instead of reactive roadside responses.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary of £40,178, with on‑target earnings up to £52,000.
  • Guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary to £44,385, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities.
  • Full‑time 40 hours per week, Monday to Saturday available with core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday work 1 in 4 weeks.

Where You’ll Work

You’ll be part of the Bournemouth cluster, covering Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Wimborne, Ringwood, Wareham and Swanage. You’ll work on a scheduled list of appointments in your local area, with a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, full tool set and advanced diagnostics.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine servicing.
  • Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
  • In‑depth repairs normally performed in a workshop.
  • Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
  • Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
  • Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
