The RAC is the UK\’s leading breakdown service provider – a people-powered business of 4,000 \’orange heroes\’ delivering the best-in-class motoring services for both private and business drivers. Our unprecedented growth means we now have a fantastic opportunity for skilled, field-based Roadside Mechanic to join our Roadside Patrol team.

As a Roadside Mechanic you will need:

  • A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrative technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience
  • A customer-focused approach
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to work at relatively short notice
  • Open to travel and overnight stays if necessary

In this role you’ll work the equivalent of 40 hours per week without a set roster. This means you will receive your roster seven days in advance, while the core hours that you are scheduled to work will be sent three days in advance. You will work within the hours of 0600 and 0200. Your shift patterns will include evenings, early mornings, weekends and bank holidays.

Our patrols will be out and about dealing face-to-face with our members, handling breakdowns, offering technical support and delivering the same exceptional service that they’ve come to expect from the RAC.
