Job Description
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period.
- Assist with childbirth, including labor assessments, monitoring, and delivery support.
- Offer postpartum care for mothers and newborns, ensuring both are well-supported during recovery.
- Act as a circulating nurse in the operating room for cesarean sections and other surgical procedures as necessary.
- Monitor and assess the health and well-being of mothers and babies, ensuring appropriate interventions are implemented.
- Manage patient care during the administration of magnesium drip or epidural.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during labor, delivery, and postpartum stages.
- Coordinate with the medical team to ensure the best patient outcomes.
- Be available for rotating shifts (days/evenings/nights), including 1 night of call per week and every other weekend (EOW).
- Adhere to safety protocols, hospital policies, and best practice standards.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Circulating, and Newborn Care.
- BLS (Basic Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certifications (renewed every 2 years).
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including day, evening, night shifts, and on-call responsibilities.
- Strong clinical skills in labor, delivery, postpartum care, and newborn assessment.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (preferred).
- Experience with EPIC EMR (Electronic Medical Records).
- Previous experience in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit.
- Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and other advanced perinatal care courses.
