£41,320 OTE – Guaranteed minimum £33,498 (Inclusive of £4,320 London Weighting allowance where eligible) – 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern – 0800‑2000 / 1100‑2300.

Role Overview

As an RAC Recovery Driver, you will be on the front‑line looking after our members whose vehicles cannot be repaired at the roadside. You will be an integral member of RAC, key to our continued growth and delivery of exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside recovery calls and manage the safe removal of non‑repairable vehicles.
• Operate vehicles and equipment efficiently and safely under all conditions.
• Maintain situational awareness to minimise risk of accident or injury to yourself and members.
• Communicate with members professionally and sensitively during emergencies.

Qualifications & Experience

• Full vehicle category C driving licence (HGV 2) minimum, with Driver CPC and digital drivers/tachograph card.
• Experience in roadside recovery or similar environments preferred.
• Excellent vehicle handling skills and a passion for driving in all conditions.
• Logical thinker, able to problem‑solve and stay focussed under potentially dangerous conditions.
• Ability to work efficiently independently while receiving support from RAC.
• Comfortable with technology – willingness to use modern computerized equipment.
