Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Railcar Repairman to join our team. This role involves 60% mechanical work and 40% welding work, focusing on the repair of railcars. The job is physically demanding and requires working in a dirty environment. While flux core welding is preferred, training is available for those skilled in MIG welding.
Responsibilities
- Work safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and railroad tracks.
- Coordinate and complete all railcar repairs and maintenance.
- Interpret job work orders and follow blueprints/schematics to perform required repairs.
- Utilize basic mechanical skills and build knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut, and gouge.
- Notify of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks.
- Follow all safety rules, keep work area clean, and comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
- Ensure FRA, AAR, and customer quality standards are met.
- Complete any other duties as assigned to complete the task.
- Perform tasks supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances.
Essential Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to weld.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools and air tools.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with mechanical work or railcar work.
- Ability to stand for long periods, work in hot and cold environments, and lift repetitively throughout the day.
- Ability to take a fluxcore weld test to determine training needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with torch cutting, fluxcore welding, grinding, air tools, hand tools, mechanical assembly, and fabrication.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $22.00/hr.
