Job Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that finished products and raw materials meet quality control requirements. This position interacts with the production, purchasing, and shipping departments.
Responsibilities
- Inspect the quality of the raw materials and outsourced products requiring incoming inspection.
- Document defective raw material and outsourced product findings and communicate quality issues to the supply chain, working to resolve the quality issue.
- Check the filling line before each production run to ensure removal of all packaging materials used in the previous production run, cleanliness and validation of the filling line, and correct type of packaging is brought to the filling line.
- Inspect the quality of finished products for fill weight, heat seal, color and odor, lot number, application and removal torque, general appearance, pallet configurations, and other criteria.
- Document quality control findings.
- Review daily production batch records.
- Archive production records and associated quality documents.
- Train production personnel on quality procedures.
- Work with the production department to resolve quality issues associated with finished products.
- Perform detailed quality control inspection of first runs of new products.
Essential Skills
- Experience in inspection, visual inspection, and quality inspection processes.
- Proficiency in quality control and production.
- Basic math skills, including weighing powders and liquids.
- Attention to detail and document control.
- Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, and typing.
- Good communication skills.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 – $21.00/hr.
