A long-term care pharmacy in New York is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) for a direct hire opportunity. This site operates 24/7 and services high-volume prescription needs, with an average of 1,800 prescriptions processed per day. The facility also includes a clean room for IVs and TPNs, supported by a robust pharmacy team and administrative staff.

Start Date: ASAP
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Shifts: 1st (7:00 AM 3:30 PM), 2nd (3:00 PM 10:00 PM), 3rd (11:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Final schedule details to be determined in coordination with the selected candidate.

Facility Overview:

  • 39 FTEs including:

  • 8 Pharmacists

  • 21 Technicians

  • 10 Administration/Client Support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all pharmacy operations and ensure full regulatory pliance with state/federal laws and internal SOPs.

  • Maintain visibility on the floor and assist in staffing as needed.

  • Manage HR-related responsibilities in lieu of onsite HR support (with escalation access to HR Manager).

  • Promote a team-focused culture centered on productivity, accountability, and patient care.

  • Evaluate medication orders, supervise medication preparation, and ensure all medications are correctly labeled and dispensed.

  • Serve as a liaison with facility staff to resolve medication-related issues and provide therapeutic remendations.

  • Ensure proper security, recordkeeping, and control measures are in place for all medications, including controlled substances.

Qualifications:

  • Active New York Pharmacist license (in good standing)

  • 510 years of bined experience in hospital, retail, or long-term care pharmacy

  • Prior LTC leadership experience required; will consider experienced LTC staff pharmacists looking to step into leadership

  • Strong leadership, munication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to motivate teams and uphold productivity goals

  • Framework/ECM software experience is a plus
