Job Description
A contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students in an educational setting in Saint Charles, IL. This position covers the Summer Extended School Year (ESY) program and the upcoming 2025-2026 school year. The role offers flexibility with full-time or part-time schedules and a varied caseload structured by classroom assignments.
Responsibilities include managing caseloads that typically involve 2-4 classrooms depending on availability and employment status. Each classroom may contain up to 10 students ranging from Kindergarten through transition-aged 12+ learners. Approximately 60% of students have Autism, presenting a diversity of communication needs, from nonverbal or limited verbal skills to AAC users at different levels of proficiency or highly verbal students. The ability to tailor therapy approaches to meet a wide spectrum of communication abilities is essential.
Qualifications:
- Current Illinois license as an SLP or SLPA
- For SLPs: Professional Educator License (PEL) issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
- Experience with pediatric populations and educational or healthcare settings is preferred
