Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse Travel Job (Hiring Immediately)

Location:Chicago, Illinois
Assignment Type:13-week contract
Shift:10 hour days, 6:45am start time

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking an experienced and patient-focused OR Registered Nurse to join a dynamic surgical team in the South Chicagoland area. This position is ideal for a skilled nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and is passionate about delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate perioperative care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, individualized nursing care to patients throughout the perioperative process

• Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care

• Ensure care is safe, effective, timely, and patient-centered

• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols

• Recognize and respond to patient needs throughout the surgical experience, including discharge planning and education

• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policy

• Serve as a clinical leader, providing supervision to LPNs and assistive personnel

• Stay current with unit protocols, population-specific procedures, and competency standards

Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted RN license in Illinois

• BLS and ACLS Certification (American Heart Association preferred)

• Minimum of 12 years OR RN experience in a hospital or surgical center setting

• Strong critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills

• Ability to adapt quickly in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
