About the Role

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division – a new era of mobile repair. The role is a fully equipped mobile job that takes you to members’ driveways and car parks.

Compensation

Competitive base salary of £40,178, with on‑target earnings up to £52,000. Guaranteed overtime option to increase your base salary, plus additional overtime and bonus opportunities. 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30 am–5:00 pm, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Routine servicing
  • Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
  • In‑depth repairs normally completed in a workshop
  • Provide member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
  • Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
  • Work through a scheduled list of jobs with full tools and support

Requirements

  • Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
  • Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
