About the Role
Are you passionate about healthcare and skilled in navigating the complexities of medical billing and insurance collections? Join our dynamic team as a Medical Collections Representative, where your expertise will directly impact the financial health of our organization and the satisfaction of our patients.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of patient accounts from start to finish—ensuring timely resolution, accurate claim follow-up, and effective communication with payors. Your understanding of the Revenue Cycle and your problem-solving skills will be key to driving results and improving processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve outstanding account balances using internal systems and online resources.
- Follow up on claims with third-party payors and patients via phone, email, or online portals.
- Review remittances and pursue insurance collections, including disputed balances.
- Accurately document all actions and communications in the patient accounting system.
- Identify trends, payor issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Update insurance and demographic information as needed to ensure account accuracy.
What You Bring
- 1+ year of experience in medical billing, collections, or a related healthcare revenue cycle role.
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Managed Care insurance plans.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
