About The Role
Join the RAC as a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic. Flexibility deserves recognition – and we deliver.
- Competitive salary: £50,669 basic, with the opportunity to earn up to £57,000 with bonuses and overtime.
- Weekly variety: Approximately 40 hours per week with roster released seven days in advance and core hours confirmed three days prior.
- Shift flexibility: Shifts between 06:00 and 02:00, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Where you'll work
You’ll be part of the Leicester cluster, covering areas such as Leicester, Oadby, Wigston, Hinckley, Melton Mowbray, Market Harborough, and Loughborough. Work locally so you can start and finish at home.
What you’ll need:
- Either NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years experience or 5+ years experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
Responsibilities
- Provide roadside assistance to members, diagnosing faults and repairing or replacing parts.
- Manage own kit and van, keeping it stocked and ready for calls.
- Handle reporting and documentation accurately.
- Operate within the defined shift schedule, covering early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Interact calmly under pressure and communicate effectively with members.
