About the Role
Join the RAC as a SuperFlex Roadside Mechanic. As a Superflex Patrol Roadside Mechanic, you’ll provide the adaptability our service relies on.
Working Conditions
- Competitive salary: £55,869 basic salary (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance if applicable), with opportunity to earn up to £61,000.
- Weekly variety: work an average of 40 hours per week; roster released seven days in advance, core working hours confirmed three days prior.
- Shift times: between 06:00 and 02:00, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Location: part of the Heathrow cluster, covering areas such as Heathrow Airport area, Hounslow, Feltham, Hayes, Southall, Twickenham, Sunbury‑on‑Thames, Staines. Work organised locally to start and finish at home.
What You’ll Do
- Operate your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit.
- Provide roadside assistance: fault diagnostics, flat tyres, flat battery, and other vehicle problems.
- Maintain van and tools, handle reports with precision, manage your own kit.
- Keep calm under pressure, connect with members, support safe travel.
- Make decisions on the roadside, support members, keep everyone moving.
What You’ll Need
- A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with demonstrative technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
- A customer‑focused approach.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work on relatively short notice and travel with overnight stays, if necessary.
