BBSI has partnered with a well-established sand and gravel company in the Inland Empire. Due to continued growth, we’re seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team. This is a great opportunity to put your expertise to work and grow your career with a trusted company.
Job Summary
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of diesel engines and related systems, ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are maintained and repaired to the highest standards. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues effectively and perform necessary repairs in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related components.
- Conduct diagnostics to identify mechanical issues.
- Repair and align brakes, including air brake systems.
- Work on hydraulic systems, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
- Maintain electrical systems within diesel vehicles and equipment.
- Transmissions & Clutches
- Welding
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems.
- Utilize cranes and other heavy machinery safely during repair processes.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance performed and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine components, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Skilled with diagnostics tools and software.
- Experience with brake repair, particularly air brake systems.
- Welding experience
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license; additional certifications in diesel mechanics are a plus.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and stay updated on industry advancements.
