Job Description
Catholic Charities of Central Colorado is hiring a dependable and experienced Facilities Technician to help keep our buildings safe, functional, and welcoming. In this full-time role, you’ll handle a wide range of maintenance tasks—from plumbing and electrical repairs to leading key facilities projects. You'll also work closely with staff, volunteers, tenants, program participants, and contractors, so strong communication and a friendly, professional attitude are key.
We’re looking for someone with 4+ years of maintenance experience, a solid understanding of building systems, and the ability to juggle tasks with care and efficiency. The position offers $23.50–$24.50/hour, M–F, 8am–5pm, along with excellent benefits, including approximately 17 paid holidays, medical/dental/vision coverage, a pension plan, 403(b), and eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

Essential Duties
Key tasks and responsibilities to be performed in the role.
Core Facilities Operations
- Review and prioritize work order requests from staff, tenants, and program participants to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
- Perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks, from routine to advanced, such as:
- Changing light bulbs, hanging pictures, replacing light fixtures, ballasts, and ceiling tiles; repairing plumbing; carpentry; painting; coordinating carpet cleaning; watering and pruning indoor plants; and maintaining flat roofs and drains.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections on major building systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues or escalate when needed (e.g., vacuums, shampooers, filters, motor belts, brushes)
- Maintain outdoor areas: Support office operations by moving, maintaining, and assembling furniture and equipment, including setup and tear down.
- Examples include keeping sidewalks free of debris/snow (occasionally outside of business hours), light concrete repairs, seasonal sprinkler maintenance, landscaping (plants, flowers, and bushes), weeding, and parking lot upkeep.
- Organize facility closets, monitor supply levels, and alert supervisor when stock is low. Maintain tool inventory and ensure they are in good working order.
- Maintain accurate records of facility inspections, repairs, compliance logs, and regulatory checklists.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with HAZMAT, HAZCOM, and other safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Facilities Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide high-quality service and clear communication to staff, tenants, program participants, and volunteers.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while overseeing or collaborating with vendors, contractors, and inspectors.
- Coordinate and oversee volunteers, vendors, contractors, and contracted work to ensure quality, safety, and scope alignment.
- Serve as a lead technician for assigned projects and facility locations.
- Collaborate with Facilities staff and other departments to meet agency goals.
- Participate in department and agency meetings.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency or cost savings.
- Recommend and implement creative solutions to improve facility operations.
Site-Specific Support: Helen Hunt Campus (Commercial Tenants & Residential Program)
- Support the Facilities and Family Connections teams in maintaining positive tenant and program participant relationships by addressing facilities-related concerns and contributing to a high standard of service through proactive maintenance communication and responsiveness.
- Participate as part of the Facilities and agency emergency response team to help respond to rare, after-hours emergencies when immediate attention is necessary and cannot wait until the next day.
- Conduct quarterly apartment inspections with a Family Life Coach or Housing Navigator to ensure units are well-maintained, assist in assessing any damage, and support remediation efforts.
Requirements
Minimum requirements to be eligible for the role.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in facilities maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
- Familiarity with complex facility systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical panels, safety systems).
- Experience in leadership or project coordination.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards.
Technical & Physical
- Ability to operate light- to mid-range equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and property/work order management systems (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Buildium).
- Physical ability to perform tasks including use of hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with arms and hands, stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift supplies or equipment weighing up to 100 pounds. This position may experience frequent repetitive motion to perform the required duties.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate agency vehicle to pick up supplies.
- Willingness and flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, and adjust schedule for special circumstances (e.g., snow removal, facilities related emergencies, events).
- Ability to respond to a company-issued communication device during work hours.

Work Environment
- Work is primarily conducted in office and residential housing unit settings.
- The employee will be exposed to both indoor and outside environmental conditions.
- A mobile communication device (e.g., cell phone) will be provided to support job-related communication during work hours.
- Depending on program needs, the employee may be required to respond to urgent or after-hours facility emergencies, either on a rotating or assigned basis.
- This position involves working with toxic chemicals that are present in cleaning supplies and other compounds used in maintaining the facility and grounds.

Compensation
- The salary range for this position is $23.50 – $24.50 per hour. Salary is determined based on the applicant’s incoming skills and experience, and the budget at time of hiring.
